This site is the online portfolio for artist Frank Hammond. The site's monochromatic color palette helps to accentuate the vibrant content, yet is playful and harmonizes with the overall thematic concept of the artwork.
Currently a work in progress, this interactive "Flash-like" website utilizes custom jQuery animations to achieve visually interesting page transitions and to provide functionality to the thumbnail image galleries. The site also features full compatibility across modern browsers, Ajax content loading with back-button functionality, image preloading, and PHP Includes which allow the site to degrade gracefully in non-JavaScript enabled browsers.
While employed at Slaggie Architects I designed, built, and maintained their new website to replace an existing one that was in desperate need of an update. The site's design is clean and minimal to showcase the firm's projects without competing for the viewer's attention.
The website features a pure CSS-based dynamic menu and Ajax-like behavior with content loading into a floating iframe element.
The website you are currently browsing is my ever-evolving blog, portfolio showcase, and résumé. The simple and distinctive geometry of a white rectangle with a notched corner is carried throughout the site for effective branding.
The site features valid XHTML and CSS, interactivity through jQuery effects and event handling, and a customized Wordpress theme.
